Kit-tastic

Trimcraft are really spoiling the team with another fantastic kit just arrived. I've already succumbed to the gorgeous Craft a Card die and the Painted Blooms paper pads are stunning.

Here's a glimpse at the new products available

And this is the card I made using the die and the gorgeous twinkly Storyteller paper pad from my last kit.

I think I'll be using this die loads as I love how this card turned out.

Sketchy Sunday no. 146

Yes, I'm back from a little break from blogland, so of course it's time for a Sketchy Sunday post. I love a multi-photo post and photo strips are one of my fav ways to include a series of pics.

I've stuck to a simple strip for this sketch and added a few layers to bring in those extra patterns and textures.

Now for a quick project catch-up. I altered this cheapie moneybox with the new Jour du Couture paper pack and some Dovecraft embellies.

These little Valentine boxes were made using the Kraft Keepsake paper pad.

So, I'm back in the crafty saddle and I do hope you'll pop by to see what I've been up to later in the week.

Movies I've watch over the past couple of weeks:-

Hacksaw Ridge - true story war drama - Pick of the week.
Lights Out - ghost/horror story
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot - true story war drama starring Tina Fey
Event Horizon - Sci-fi horror

The Wonderful Emilia.

I've been missing from blogland for a couple of weeks and my regular sketch post has had to go on hiatus and this is the reason why.....Sadly, we lost my wonderful mother-in-law this month after a short, but intense battle with lymphoma. I just wanted to share this amazing woman with you.

She was a Spanish fisherwoman who some 50+ years ago came here to the UK to build a better life. She worked for many years as a psychiatric nurse and met the young handsome Norman to whom she has been married 51years.

An amazing cook and great storyteller, we are all better people for having known her and will miss her every day.

Love is in the air..

I don't make many cards, but now and again I get inspired to try my hand. Trimcraft recently published a Valentine card article and I submitted this little number.....Tom and Renee would approve.

Checkout the whole article here.

Feeling the romance I also decorated this jar and filled it with jelly lips for a Valentine jar full of kisses.

Both of these projects were made with papers from the First Edition Black Out paper pad. It has some beautifully textured designs, the crackle is my favourite.

Sketchy Sunday no. 145

Another Sunday dose of inspiration and today's sketch is a simple one, but sometimes that's the best way. Use some busy patterns to create interest and add your journaling on different style tags to complete the page, but hey that's just my take on it.

So, here we have it, sketch number 145.

Movies watch this week:-

Battleship -  fun alien invasion effects movie...Pick of the week.
Split - psychological thriller with a Sci-fi twist
Cell - very disappointing Stephen King adaptation
A Million Ways to Die in the West - hysterical juvenile comedy western

Parties and Projects

I've been catching up with some Project Life app layouts this week. The first documents our lovely friend Cabhan's ninth birthday. I say friend because he made a point of telling his school mate he couldn't talk because his grown up friends had come round to see him......I think it's lovely that he thinks of us that way.

The second layout shows the projects so far from my new Trimcraft Design Team kit. I'm loving being on the team and I would encourage everyone in need of a creativity and stash boost to try out for one, it's challenging, but such good fun.
